(SRT)

The Cullman County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team (SRT) was formed in 1999. This specialized team is staffed by deputies from Patrol, Narcotics, School Resource and Investigation Divisions.   They stand prepared, on a moment’s notice, to defuse volatile situations, restore order and preserve our community’s quality of life. The primary duties of SRT are:

SERVING HIGH RISK  ARREST & SEARCH WARRANTS 

COVERT SURVEILLANCE AND RECONNAISANCE

Since its inception, the SRT has played a pivotal role in the capture of dangerous criminals and controlling potential threats to public safety.   To date, SRT has performed high risk entry during narcotics search warrants, in excess of one hundred times, without serious injury or loss of life to either offender or law enforcement.

Project Lifesaver International (PLI) helps provide rapid response to save lives and reduce potential for serious injury for adults and children who wander due to Alzheimer’s, Autism, Down Syndrome, dementia and other related disorders.  PLI provides equipment, training, certification and support to law enforcement, public safety organizations and community groups which operate the Project Lifesaver program in their communities.  PLI has over 1,000 participating agencies across the U.S., Canada, and Australia, and has performed over 1,900 searches in the last 10 years with a 100% success rate.
