Scam-Advance America 

Victims are advising that a subject will call and claim that
he is from Advance America and will threaten to take warrants on the person if
he doesn’t receive payment within two hours. On phone number being used is
(202) 827-0660. The Victims state the caller will give them a false case number
and will have some of their personal information such as address full name and
in some cases their DOB’s and SSN’s.

Advance America was contacted and they stated that they are
aware of similar scams and have them posted at their Cullman location. Sgt.
Duke spoke with Mrs. Stancil about the scam and wished to have people made
aware of the scam but wanted the public to know that the people calling the
Victims are not associated with Advance America and the practices being used by
these subjects are not common practices used in their collection plan.
