Phone Scam - American Publishers Sweepstakes Company out of Hanover Jamaica
A Cullman County resident recently contacted the Sheriff's Office about a phone scam. The scammer stated that she had won 1.7 million dollars through a sweepstakes as well as a brand new car. The caller wanted her to send a processing fee of $1500.00 to receive her prize. The company name is American Publishers Sweepstakes Company out of Hanover Jamaica. The numbers used to contact the lady were as follows: primary number (321) 800-9552, alternate numbers (876) 467-8830 and (818) 237-2970. This scam has been active for some time and several county residents have fallen victim to it.
